Paisano Baptist Encampment

Deeply Rooted in Blessings

Deeply Rooted in Blessings

From the fullness of his grace, we have all received one blessing after another.

Did you know the words BLESS, BLESSED, and BLESSINGS  are mentioned several hundred times in the Bible??? Don’t worry, I only have 6.

Herbert Lee Kokernot Sr. was greatly blessed by God’s favor to help create this place. He joined the Baptist faith from the Methodist faith in 1893, so he could marry the love of his life.

Herbert Lee Kokernot Jr. was blessed by service with the cook shed. Taking over in 1922 while eating his meals out of a tin cup. My grandparents spent their whole lives celebrating Paisano.

Our mother, Mary Ann Kokernot Lacy (Koko) blessed Elizabeth, Chris, Ann and me by bringing us to experience this sacred place, so we could continue the past, present and future. My father joined the Baptist Church after marrying Koko.

My generation is blessed by service in the cook shed and fellowship of this Baptist encampment. We keep coming back.

Our children are blessed for their participation (all 10 of them) in day camp, rock climbing, mission work, basketball and porch fellowship.

The 6th generation, our grandchildren those here and those coming, are blessed to relive our childhood memories and to hold these Holy Grounds in their hearts.

Our greatest blessing throughout the years is sharing this spiritual place to worship Jesus Christ with all of you, the Paisano family.

With a final thought, I would like to close with this “We are each of us angels, with only one wing and we can only fly by embracing one another”.

We are all Deeply Rooted in Blessings at Paisano Baptist Encampment, and would my family of three generations, please stand up.
